How to Make a Positive Impression at an Office Party

You CAN balance both “work” and “fun” in the same event. You just need to remember some things:

1. First –dress appropriately. Wear something festive but not too sexy or flashy.

2. Second – be sure to talk to everyone. Keep the conversations light and not work-related. Ask questions and engage without looking around for someone more interesting to speak with.

3. Third -- If cringeworthy games are part of the celebration, participate to show you’re a team play. You can also show you’re a team player by helping to help clean up if the party wasn’t catered.

4. Fourth - Go easy on the alcohol. Avoid having regrets the next day.

5. The last thing -- don’t forget to thank the person who hosted the party.

Yes – office parties are still work-related -- but have fun.
